Annual Fire Inspection Class A Testing

Hello,
During the annual fire inspection is it required to test class A wiring loop coming
back to the fire panel, for open, short, and ground.

The "short" answer (pardon the pun) is ... yes!

Clause 6.6.1 Each data communication link (DCL) shall be tested to confirm that a trouble signal is received at the control unit or transponder under an open loop fault.

At the control unit:

6.2.2.1
F - Ground fault tested on positive and negative initiates a trouble signal;
R - Input circuit, alarm and supervisory operation, including audible and visual indication;
S - Input circuit supervision fault causes a trouble indication;
T - Output circuit supervision fault causes a trouble indication;...
